Position: Executive Director

Reports to: President of the Board/ Board of Directors

Status: Full

Salary: $23-$28 per hour depending on experience opportunity to achieve commission bonuses


Position Summary

The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization and the administrative leadership of the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce. This position acts as the representative of the chamber and will help shape the image of the chamber by developing and maintaining positive relationships with community leaders and local membership. The Executive Director exercises a considerable degree of initiative, tact, and mature judgement in performing a variety of duties on behalf of the operations of the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce.


Personnel Management

  • Oversee the management of chamber staff including, performance reviews, administration, policy, and general supervision.
  • Coach and develop the internal leadership team to attain consistent and highly effective performance. 
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, to create better business practices.
  • Promote a working environment of excellence, external and internal collaboration, and professional standards for the organization. Build accountability into the culture.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Chamber, including management of programs, staffing, membership, and marketing efforts 
  • Work with the President to prepare agendas and materials for Board and Executive Committee meetings 
  • Develop and outline goals and objectives for recommendation to the Board
  • Serve as a principal spokesperson and ambassador for the Chamber Board at local meetings for, state and national organizations
  • Represent the Chamber at business and community events, meetings, etc. in a Professional manner 
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with community stakeholders and organizations 
  • Attend Chamber Board committee meetings and provide staff support to committee efforts 
  • Participate in higher level membership and sponsorship sales 
  • Identify and develop revenue generation programs and events 
  • Oversee organization of Chamber’s Annual Retreat & Events 
  • Operate within and advance the polices of the Chamber 
  • Maintain open communication with the Board, and work with the Board in the governance of the Chamber; bring issues to the Board in a timely fashion 
  • Implement a marketing plan for the chamber to assure a positive community image. 
  • Develop and maintain a positive and helpful relationship with city and county governmental agencies, neighboring Chambers, and the State Chamber.
  • Maintain Chamber Nation website
  • Any additional duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Required Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years management level experience in a business-related field or other leadership position
  • Minimum of 2 years management supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of local, regional and state-level political systems and experience in developing collaborative relationships in these areas 


Preferred Professional Experience:

  • Previous business to business sales experience
  • Marketing experience
  • Social Media platforms management experience (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Website platform management experience
  • Client Relationship Management (CRM) management experience
